The short version: your notes live on your machine. On the free plan they never leave it. If you pay for sync, they're stored encrypted on a sync service so your other machines can fetch them. We don't run analytics, we can't see your card details, and you can export everything or delete your account whenever you like.
Notes on the free plan
Notes are stored in your browser's local database (IndexedDB) on your own computer. They are not transmitted to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them, which is why the app offers one-keystroke export — backups are your copy, in plain JSON, on your disk.
Sync data (Pro)
If you subscribe and turn on sync, your notes and boards are stored by Dexie Cloud, operated by Awarica AB, so that your machines can stay in step. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and encrypted at rest on their servers. To be precise about what that means: this is standard server-side encryption, not end-to-end encryption — the sync service processes your data in order to sync it.
Signing in uses a one-time code sent to your email. There are no passwords, so there is no password database to breach.
Payments
Subscriptions are sold and processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle handles your card details and billing address and remits any applicable VAT or sales tax — we never see your payment details. What we receive is your email address and your subscription status, which is what unlocks Pro in the app. Paddle's own privacy policy covers their processing.
The waitlist and email
If you join the waitlist or updates list, your email address is held by Buttondown, the service we use to send email. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing actually removes you. We send invites and occasional product notes — nothing else, and we never share the list.
Analytics and cookies
There are none. No analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no cookies on this site or in the app. If that ever changes we'll use a cookieless, privacy-respecting counter and update this page first.
Your rights
Export: one keystroke in the app (⌘K → Export), free or paid, always. Deletion: during the beta, email support@possibleforms.com and we'll delete your account and synced data promptly and confirm when it's done. If your subscription lapses, your synced data is kept so you can come back — locked, not deleted — and you can still export everything. If you'd rather it were removed, say so and it will be.
